Mrs. John Robertson, age 83 years died Thurs. morning at six o'clock at her home southwest of town of complications. she had been an invalid 8 years due to paralysis. Mrs. Robertson, formerly Emma Peterman was born at Carlisle, Knox County, Indiana March 9, 1843, the daughter of William and Rachel Peterman. She was married in the summer of 1892 to John Robertson.  As a young woman she became affiliated with the Presbyterian Church here but later transferred her membership to the Methodist, where she was as long as health permitted a teacher in the Sunday School and an active and willing worker in Church affairs, being Pres. of the Ladies Aid for a number of years. She was a member of OES Russellville Chapter. She is survived by her husband, a sister, Mrs. Flora Oldshue of this place, a stepson, Frank Robertson, and 3 grandchildren, James Smiley of Evansville, Robert Smiley of Rockville and Mary Louise Robertson. She was loved and respected, having a jovial friendly disposition, carrying it with patience throughout her long period of affliction, till God received and rested her. Funeral services were conducted at the ME Church on Saturday, at two o'clock by the pastor, JB Johnson assisted by the OES Lodge of Russellville. Burial at Maple Ridge.kbz
